Crisis Line

RMCP answers both the Colorado Crisis Services (CCS) hotline (844-493-TALK) and the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (988). There is no wrong door for crisis care in Colorado. If you, or someone you know, is struggling with a mental, emotional, drug or alcohol concern, having family or relationship issues, or issues at work or school, we can help you find your own path to recovery and growth.

Text & Chat Crisis

Our Online Emotional Support (OES) program is available to those who prefer, or require, non-verbal communication. Just text “TALK” to 38255 to reach the CCS text line, or text “988” or chat “” to reach the 988 text or chat line.

Peer Support

Our Peer Support line is staffed by trained Peer Specialists who have lived experience dealing with mental health or substance use challenges, who are in recovery, and are dedicated to providing support for others facing similar challenges. To connect with a peer specialist, call 844-493-TALK (8255) and follow prompts to opt-in to the Support Line. Available from 7:00 a.m. to midnight 7 days/week.

Mobile Dispatch

RMCP is the dispatch center for the State of Colorado when an individual in  crisis needs an in-person response from a Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT).  RMCP quickly connects with MCRT from outside agencies across Colorado to provide timely crisis responses.

Hospital Follow-Up

RMCP provides follow-up services to recently discharged patients from partnering emergency departments who received an evaluation for suicidal thoughts or behaviors. An RMCP Crisis Specialist reaches out to individuals at agreed-upon times and intervals to check in on their well-being. Repeated caring contact has been shown to reduce suicidal ideation and suicide risk and is an important part of RMCP’s continuum of services. RMCP also offers crisis line follow-up and opiate follow-up for ongoing support.

If you would like to learn clinical skills and interventions for supporting individuals in crisis, gain a greater understanding of suicide and substance use assessments, learn the crisis system in Colorado, and experience working with a variety of populations, consider one of our internship opportunities. RMCP provides customized crisis line services, which we call LiveConnect, for agencies and helpline groups across Colorado that have a need for 24/7 availability for clients but may not have the funding or infrastructure to provide these services. Spanish Language Services

RMCP offers Spanish language services to our callers.
