Our Purpose and History

At the heart of Rocky Mountain Crisis Partners (RMCP) work lies the power of connection—connecting our past experiences to the knowledge we carry forward into the future. It’s about bridging the wisdom of lived experience with evidence-based practices, ensuring that every step taken is grounded in understanding and progress. We seek to connect our expertise to organizations and initiatives that share our commitment to strengthening communities and partnering to create solutions that last. We seek to be present in vulnerable moments, providing a steady hand during critical transitions from care settings, and helping individuals reconnect with themselves and their support networks. We seek to create environments where communities can come together, share stories, find solidarity, and forge connections that will sustain wellness. In every program, every partnership, and every space, connection is the thread that ties it all together—guiding, supporting, and empowering.

Founded in 2010, RMCP is a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) organization originally created to provide crisis support to individuals and communities in Colorado. RMCP served as the front door to Colorado’s comprehensive crisis system from 2010 to 2024, having built the infrastructure from the ground up with such innovative programming as our Hospital Follow-Up Program, cutting-edge Peer Support Program, highly effective Mobile Dispatch service, and, of course, our flagship Crisis Line. In 2024, RMCP helped transition crisis contact center services while investing in new programs to promote human connection as a solution to strengthening resilience and overcoming personal crisis.
