Acceptance of Terms and Conditions
By using 38255 Colorado Crisis Text Services (CCTS) you agree to the Terms and Conditions of service. If you do not agree with the Terms and Conditions you may not use CCTS. You may email email@example.com for questions about CCTS Terms and Conditions.
Scope of Service
Users of CCTS can text in to find:
Support and consultation regarding crisis concerns and behavioral health questions
Connection to Colorado Crisis Services
Community resources pertaining to behavioral health concerns and topics
Through this program you will be able to text with a live person (not a robot). Once opted in, you can text anything to 38255 to initiate chat with a live crisis text counselor. Following the text conversation, you will be sent one question asking you how helpful you thought our service was. Message & data rates may apply. CCTS supports individuals with hearing/speech impairments or they may also call 7-1-1. For translation services, please call 844-493-8255 to speak with a Colorado Crisis Counselor and translator.

CCTS is operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. CCTS is not a substitute for 9-1-1 (emergency services), 4-1-1 (telephone directory assistance) or other specialized hotlines or automated recordings. This program is not intended to be psychotherapy nor a substitute or replacement for psychotherapy.
Generally, information disclosed to Colorado Crisis Counselors via CCTS is confidential. Just like your doctor’s office we follow HIPAA regulations, as well as, Federal and Colorado law. Our goal is to work with you in a crisis and work together to come up with plans that are helpful for you! While CCTS focuses on immediate crisis support and is not intended to be psychotherapy, CCTS is staffed by Colorado Crisis Counselors who are mandated reporters and there are some exceptions to confidentiality. These exceptions are listed in the Colorado statutes, C.R.S. §12-43-218 and can include but are not limited to:
Child abuse or neglect situations
Abuse or exploitation of an at-risk elder or the imminent risk of abuse or exploitation
When you are determined to be a harm to yourself or others, including those identifiable by their association with a specific location or entity
When you are determined to be gravely disabled
In accordance with CCTS policies and procedures, HIPAA, and Federal or Colorado law
There may be other exceptions to confidentiality as provided by HIPAA regulations and other Federal and/or Colorado laws and regulations that may apply to CCTS.
Our texting services respect each individual’s right to personal privacy. We will collect and use information through our service only in the ways disclosed in this statement. This applies only to CCTS and cannot be extended to third party websites or any cellular provider. Refer to your cell phone provider directly about the security of information that you are sending through your cell service.
We do not share your mobile number or any of the information you provide during your encounters with our text services with 3rd parties nor do we engage in the selling of address material to list services. We do gather information about the age and location of individuals participating in the text service, but that is simply so we can understand who is using the service and where people are learning about us as well. No identifying information is used when we look at this kind of information.
Phone Carriers & Limitations
Participating carriers: Alltel AWCC, Associated Carrier Group, AT&T, Rural Carrier Group, Tier 2/3 Carrier Group, Cincinnati Bell, MetroPCS, Cricket, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, Sprint, Nextel, Boost, Virgin Mobile and Verizon Wireless.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Standard rates apply.
Alerts sent via SMS may not be delivered to you if your phone is not in range of a transmission site, or if sufficient network capacity is not available at a particular time. Even within a coverage area, factors beyond the control of your wireless carrier may interfere with message delivery, including the customer’s equipment, terrain, proximity to buildings, foliage, and weather. You acknowledge that urgent alerts may not be timely received and that your wireless carrier does not guarantee that alerts will be delivered.
Risk of Service Use
You assume all risk for CCTS service you. The information, services, and materials of CCTS are provided on an “as is” basis with no warranty. (However, we want to provide the highest quality of service!). To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CCTS disclaims all representations and warranties, expressed or implied, with respect to such information, services, products, and materials, including without limitation any implied warranties or merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and noninfringement.
In addition, CCTS does not warrant that the information accessible via CCTS is current, complete, or error-free. In no event will CCTS be liable for any consequential, indirect, incidental, special, or punitive damages, however caused and under any theory of liability (including negligence), arising from your use of CCTS or the provision of the information, services, products, and materials provided by CCTS, even if CCTS has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Because some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential damages, the above limitation may not apply to you.
The security of texts is ensured through the text software provider, which encrypts everything on the platform so the website and the content stored is encrypted. Although confidentiality extends to communications by text, email, telephone, and/or other electronic means, we cannot guarantee that those communications will be kept confidential and/or that a third-party may access our communications. Even though the text software provide may utilize state of the art encryption methods, firewalls, and back-up systems to help secure our communication, there is a risk that electronic or telephone communications may be compromised, unsecured, and/or accessed by a third-party. Bottom line, there are hackers out there that try to get information they shouldn’t have…and sending information through a cell phones is one way those hackers might try to get that information.

CCTS may provide links to other sites on the Internet that are owned and operated by third parties. You acknowledge that CCTS is not responsible for the availability of, or the content located on or through, any such external site. We also may provide resources and information about other programs that could be helpful for you, but we don’t have control over their privacy and security policies, so check with them with any questions.
Text Termination & Prohibited Uses
CCTS may terminate or suspend your access to all or part of CCTS, without notice, for any conduct that CCTS, in its sole discretion, believes is in violation of any applicable law or is harmful to the interests of another user, a sponsor, merchant or other third party, or CCTS.
Basically, treat us respectfully and kindly, we’re here to help you. You can also terminate services at any time (Text STOP, as described above).
Modifications of Terms and Conditions
CCTS reserves the right, at any time, to modify, alter or update the Terms and Conditions at any time. This page reflects the most current Terms and Conditions. By using CCTS, you agree to such modifications, alterations or updates.
